Artificial Insurance, a paranoid normal triptych

May 17 @ 11:00 am May 18 @ 5:00 pm

Artificial Insurance is an installation featuring work by visual and performance artist Justin Lander that will be on view this spring in ArtYard’s VSG (Very Small Galleries), three miniature installations hidden in our walls, visible through small peepholes.

Artificial Intelligence is an insurance policy that protects us from difficulties in life. It is a golem that makes life easy by outsourcing artificial solutions. We absorb this artificiality, and it becomes real, making us artificial.

Artificial Insurance, a paranoid normal triptych, uses found objects, papier-mâché, and wire sculptures to create snapshots of a Dadaist puppet show — dream images from the subconscious, sent as a reminder that, to insure full humanity, art cannot be a product of data mining.
