Awarded the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest miniature railroad, the Northlandz Miniature Railroad & Museum is one of Flemington’s most famous destinations. With over 100 miniature trains on eight miles of track, and elaborate miniature landscapes, “you won’t believe your eyes.” Outside, a one-third scale replica steam engine travels through a tunnel and over a bridge passes along scenic views of the South Branch of the Raritan River.
On weekends, the historic Black River and Western Railroad offers scenic train tours through Hunterdon County. Starting in Flemington, this ride will take you to Ringoes, NJ where you can disembark and visit the museum and gift shop located in a historic civil-war era station. Seasonal train events include Pumpkin Junction, North Pole, and Easter Bunny excursions.
Scenic Trails & Parks
Bernadette Morales Nature Preserve is a local favorite spot for hiking. The trail is 3.0 miles long with an elevation gain of 387ft, and it takes about 1.5 hours to complete. Nearby, Mine Brook Park features a walking path, playground, and picnic pavilion. Deer Path Park offers outdoor walking trails, a fitness trail with outdoor exercise stations, and is home to the Music Under the Stars outdoor concert series in the summer season.

Events & Festivals
Flemington is the center of many big events you don’t want to miss! In August, the Corn, Tomato, and Beer Festival celebrates NJ’s finest crops along with farm-to-festival food from local restaurants, NJ craft beer, live music, and family fun. In October, the Hunterdon Harvest Festival celebrates the flavors of the fall season with an Oktoberfest vibe including a beer garden, oompah band, and family fun. There’s also an annual Memorial Day Parade and the Hunterdon Holiday Parade. A longstanding tradition, the Flemington Car Show returns to Main Street every other Saturday all summer long.
