All Aboard!

Awarded the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest miniature railroad, the Northlandz Miniature Railroad & Museum is one of Flemington’s most famous destinations. With over 100 miniature trains on eight miles of track, and elaborate miniature landscapes, “you won’t believe your eyes.”  Outside,  a one-third scale replica steam engine travels through a tunnel and over a bridge  passes along scenic views of the South Branch of the Raritan River.

On weekends, the historic Black River and Western Railroad offers scenic train tours through Hunterdon County. Starting in Flemington, this ride will take you to Ringoes, NJ where you can disembark and visit the museum and gift shop located in a historic civil-war era station.  Seasonal train events include Pumpkin Junction, North Pole, and Easter Bunny excursions.

Scenic Trails & Parks

Bernadette Morales Nature Preserve is a local favorite spot for hiking. The trail is 3.0 miles long with an elevation gain of 387ft, and it takes about 1.5 hours to complete. Nearby, Mine Brook Park features a walking path, playground, and picnic pavilion. Deer Path Park offers outdoor walking trails, a fitness trail with outdoor exercise stations, and is home to the Music Under the Stars outdoor concert series in the summer season.

Teaberry’s Tea Room is set in lovingly restored Victorian manor, and the elegant atmosphere will have you feeling pampered and relaxed the moment you step inside. Teaberry’s is an authentic English tea house serving a full lunch menu and a traditional afternoon tea service.

Matt’s Red Rooster Grill is a top-rated contemporary American bistro featuring a seasonal cuisine prepared over a wood fired grill. Set in one of Flemington’s historic Victorian homes, a visit to Matt’s is always a memorable experience.

Events & Festivals

Flemington is the center of many big events you don’t want to miss!  In August, the Corn, Tomato, and Beer Festival celebrates NJ’s finest crops along with farm-to-festival food from local restaurants, NJ craft beer, live music, and family fun. In October, the Hunterdon Harvest Festival celebrates the flavors of the fall season with an Oktoberfest vibe including a beer garden, oompah band, and family fun.  There’s also an annual Memorial Day Parade and the Hunterdon Holiday Parade. A longstanding tradition, the Flemington Car Show returns to Main Street every other Saturday all summer long. Destination Sports

Ready to play?  TopGolf Swing Suite offers a variety of simulated sporting games, food, and beverages.  Located in the same complex is  The Flemington Ice Arena which is open year round.  Paradise Golf Center is the perfect place to hit a bucket of balls or enjoy a game of miniature golf.

Flemington Pickleball Club is home to the fastest growing sport in America, and to everything pickleball related including tournaments, lessons, and special events. Diamond Nation provides top level instruction and facilities for serious players looking to take their game to the next level. The facility hosts tournaments for competitors from all over the East Coast and beyond.

Stangl Road

Home to the Kev Von Holt Gallery, Flemington DIY, and in the summertime, the “Lawn on Stangl” outdoor event space,  the Stangl Road Arts and Cultural District is the vibrant home to indoor and outdoor concerts, art exhibits, yoga classes, festivals, and more. 

Every Saturday year round, the Stangl Factory Farmers Market offers the freshest local, seasonal foods including organic produce, grass-fed meats, pastured eggs, handmade cheeses, freshly baked bread, and prepared foods like soups and salads. Don’t miss the market artisans- talented local craftspeople with wonderful, unique offerings. 

Stangl Road is compact and walkable, anchored at one end by the historic Stangl Factory and at the other end by Lone Eagle Brewing, a craft brewery and favorite community gathering place.  Lone Eagle is one of the seven breweries on the Hunterdon Beer Trail, a map and guide to the craft breweries of Hunterdon including tap lists and special events.
