SUMMARY:The 17th Annual "Say Humbug to Hunger" A Christmas Carol
DESCRIPTION:Ring in the season AND help the food pantries! \n\n\n\nJoin River Union Stage on Sunday\, December 14th at 3:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church of Milford\, NJ for the 17th Annual Say Humbug to Hunger performance of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” in support of fighting food insecurity through donations to Strike Out Hunger NJ. \n\n\n\nAll proceeds benefit the food pantries. Pay what you can starting at $20 to help the pantries purchase perishables like milk and bread or bring non-perishable food items to fill the pantry shelves. The family ticket price for 2 adults plus children is $50. Credit card donations to Strike Out Hunger NJ are also encouraged. Visit www.strikeouthungernj.org. \n\n\n\nThis year’s performance features added talent and caroling by community singers to the performance that audiences have enjoyed for over a decade. The script is adapted directly from a reader’s version written by Dickens\, allowing audiences to experience the beautiful prose and the more familiar dialogue of Dickens’ classic work. \n\n\n\nCan’t make the show? You can still make a difference! \n\n\n\nFor any RUS event requiring an admission fee\, our “Friend of the Theater – Theater for a Friend” program allows theater patrons to make a difference by gifting seats to folks who could use a break\, a smile\, or a belly laugh. Patrons can purchase tickets that will be given to families otherwise unable to afford a night at the theater. \n\n\n\nAs tickets become available\, RUS will distribute them with the assistance of local charity organizations. When purchasing your ticket\, simply select the “Theater for a Friend” category from the drop-down menu. \n\n\n\nSay Humbug to Hunger is sponsored by Shop Rite of Hunterdon\, The Milford Merchant Association\, Interlude Group\, LLC\, and River Union Stage and made possible by funds from the Hunterdon County Cultural and Heritage Commission\, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and The Fargo Family Foundation. \n\n\n\nRiver Union Stage is a 501(c)3 professional Equity theater.
