During the rehearsal\, the community can enjoy meeting the performers while watching and listening as they prepare for the concert the following day. \nConcordia Chamber Players will perform from their upcoming concert program\, Home. It features three works exploring the many meanings of home. \nThe lack of home or longing for one is tenderly portrayed in the string quartet bearing the title of Home\, written by Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award-winning composer Kevin Puts. Then there’s the home of understanding one’s cultural and racial identity. Might Call You Art for soprano and string quartet is written by Emmy Award-winning composer Jasmine Arielle Barnes. The title comes from the last poem in this four-movement song cycle setting of the poetry of East Cleveland native King Weatherspoon.  Finally\, the return to one’s home or birthplace in the String Quartet in G Major #13\, Opus 106 by Czech composer Antonin Dvořák\, the first work to be written entirely in his native country once Dvořák had returned home from the United States. \nConcordia Chamber Players was founded in 1997 in New Hope\, Pennsylvania by Artistic Director and cellist Michelle Djokic. Gary Davis\, and wrote \nthe biographies of 25 blues legends for The Complete Acoustic Blues \nMethod\, by Woody Mann. \nHe has recorded two CDs for Huckelberry Music\, “Fat in Paris and \nOther People’s Blues” (2017) and most recently\, “An Autumn \nAfternoon\,” released in January 2024. He also appears on \n“Southside Saturday Night\,” a compilation of performances at the \nlegendary Godfrey Daniels Coffee House in Bethlehem\, Pa.

DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered how cheese is made?  This special opportunity may be just what you are looking for.  Visit the farm this summer for 2-3 hours to learn how cheese is made.  The day begins where we will take you through a demonstration of the process for one of the easiest goat milk cheeses to make\, chevere! You will be given your own started chevere to finish at home. After that\, you will participate in a hands on experience in making your very own take home farmers cheese as well as learn about Cajeta\, a sweet pourable caramel that pairs great with coffee\, yogurt or even waffles. The goal of this class is to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to make cheese at home. Resources and recipies will be provided. \nIf the weather is nice we will end the day with us showing you how we hand milk our goats as well as spend some up close time with the herd as long as the weather is favorable. \nThis class will begin at the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church indoors\, and will be held rain or shine. \nIf the weather is favorable we will take a short 15 minute drive back to the farm to meet the goats. \n  \nPurchase tickets here!
